Discover the Best Mountain Biking Routes in Pallars

Three Days of Pure Adventure in Pallars

Last weekend, we had the pleasure of hosting a delightful group of people from Valencia and Alicante who came to Pallars to discover this beautiful area and enjoy its breathtaking scenery.

It was three days of glory, which we now describe so you can see all that can be done in just three days at MTB Pallars.

Day 1: Exploring Northern Pallars

On the first day, Thursday, we explored the northern part of Pallars. We headed to the edge of the region, near the Baqueira Beret ski resort, at the top of Port de la Bonaigua. We started our journey there with a descent that, although not technical, offered spectacular views of landscapes and waterfalls, perfect for warming up.

We gathered the group at a refuge lower down and then headed to the village of Son, just at the height of Esterri d’Àneu. We spent the rest of the day riding various trails, switching to a rockier, less forested area after lunch.

Day 2: Adventure in the Valley of Cardós

On Friday, we kicked off in the Valley of Cardós area. We started the day with some pedaling to warm up before reaching the trailhead. We shuttled up to the village of Boldís, where we began our ride.

We explored:

  1. Ginestarre Cap de la Roca – 950 (we did only half the track)

  2. Pla de Negua – 750

  3. La Carrua dels Matxos – 1000

After an intense morning, we stopped for lunch in the village of Ainet de Cardós at @CasaSamarra, where our host Khrishna prepared a perfect meal for our needs, with a special touch on the desserts.

In the afternoon, we moved to the Vallfarrera area. We shuttled up to the refuge and rode the Viros trail from there, ending with a final pedal to start the Farro trail down to Tirvia, finishing in Llavorsí with a spectacular 6 km descent, ready for a well-deserved beer and relaxation.

We rode:

  1. Bosc de Viros – 325

  2. Lo Farro de Tirvia – 880 (1950 pedaling) down to Llavorsí – 800

Day 3: The Legendary “Forestal”

Already feeling a bit tired, we started Saturday with the legendary “Forestal” (Pic de l’Orri Sort). Depending on where we start, we have more or less pedaling. There are two main options: climb up to the antennas for a 1700 m descent or start the trail from the Comas de Rubió refuge for a 1400 m descent. The descent is long enough and changes terrain as we go through different sections.

We explored:

  1. L’Orri Sort

  2. Embonui DH, the final part of the Forestal in a more downhill version.

We stopped for lunch at Hostal Can Josep, where we enjoyed a typical local menu, varied and reasonably priced. After lunch, without wasting much time, we did two more descents to wrap up three days of intense riding, varied terrain, and lots of elevation change.

We rode:

  1. Vilamur Sort

  2. Vilamur Riu del Canto + Vall de Siarb
